About Shannon - Your Creative Possibility Coach

~ My dream is for women everywhere to achieve a creative, empowered life of freedom because it is the least she deserves~

An early creative life......

I have always been creative and known instinctively that my creativity and creative expression held the keys to my being able to achieve the things I wanted and deserved in life.  From a young age my family were aware of my compulsive need to express myself ‘artistically’ and they encouraged this expression.  My mum has memories of collecting me at pre-school and the teacher asking is she had the trailer hitched up to the back of the car so there was room for my collection of art work that I was taking home!  As I said, my need to creatively express was compulsive

Growing up I continued to explore my creativity and tried all sorts of art materials to express myself.  With a great love of learning and a desire to be the leader in my life I pursued my school studies with enthusiasm but always found time to draw, paint, write or express.  I was lucky to have very positive creative role models in my life from teachers at school to  family, friends who are painters, photographers, writers and designers, to the many interesting and exciting people I met when I travelled extensively after completing my studies and now to the amazing women I work with

Work in the health industry......

I have always been inspired to work with people and started my professional life as a Registered Nurse.  After many years working in both the public and private health sectors both in Australia and overseas I spent time working in the corporate world of healthcare, using my business and leadership skills as a project manager.  While these roles were incredibly rewarding I always held onto the dream of working with people in a different and creative way

The 'Creative Possibility Coach' is born.....

When I was first at university studying Nursing I came across this profession called ‘Art Therapy’ and I was captivated.  I knew from that point that one day I would be working with people in this way.  In using my own creative expression to gain clarity and insight into what I needed in life I realised that I could combine my passion for creativity with my wish to work with people to lead them to a place of empowerment and the freedom from whatever it is that prevents them from living the life they desire. In 2006 I completed my Diploma in Transpersonal Art Therapy at IKON Institute and my dream took on a new phase as I began creating the practice and business I am blessed to have today.  I see my role as that of a coach (a leader and guide) rather than a therapist and because I am all about finding possibility through creativity I call myself the 'Creative Possibility Coach'

My passion for working with women....

My work is based on the principles of Transpersonal Art Therapy, personal insight and experience gained  in my own life, a goal to improve my own health and wellbeing and that of my clients and a commitment to women everywhere to share with them the 'supposed' secrets to being able to achieve the life they want and deserve.  The reason I say 'supposed' is because every woman has the potential to uncover the secrets for herself because as I see it the secrets are hidden within her creativity and creative expression.  As women we are naturally creative, even if we don’t think we are.  Sometimes we have simply forgotten how to be creative.  By learning how to integrate healthy creative expression into our lives we provide ourselves with the space to accept the gifts and possibility that come with that expression.  As a creative woman who knows the power of creativity I had a strong desire for women everywhere to achieve an empowered life of freedom so when I came to deciding who I would work with there wasn't really any decision to make

My dream.....

My dream is for women everywhere to have the opportunity to safely, creatively and freely express themselves in a way that they feel empowered to become the leaders of their own lives.  I believe that I am blessed every time I work with a woman and she rediscovers the lost creative magic in herself, the same magic that she can use to transform her life and come home to her self

And my ultimate passion.....

In addition this important role allows me the opportunity to live my ultimate passion, that thing which drives me to do what I do every day - my wish for people everywhere to know and understand the incredible self healing opportunity that comes with the creative process and to have access to an Art Therapist  or someone specialised in working with people on a creative therapeutic level to support, guide, lead and nurture them through the processes that lead to the achievement of their life's goals, attainable from the place of the 'healed' or 'healing' soul

What's next......

There are so many possibilities on the horizon.  I might not know exactly which one that I will pursue but I do know that no matter where my life takes me it will be a continuing journey of the life I live now, one of empowerment and personal freedom where I live each day with acceptance, gratitude and joy and it will always involve learning, working and being with others, creativity and creative expression at it's core
